Ran across this news story on a scientist who is proposing firing sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere to slow global warming by creating shade inducing particles in the stratoshpere. This is the type of solution that usually makes a bad problem worse, in unforseen ways. LINKg

What a crackpot idea! It's like in that episode of Futurama where they just keep putting a larger and larger block of ice in the ocean to cool it down.
