Manhattan Stinks


A mysterious odor enveloped the Westside of Manhattan and parts of Jersey yesterday, Click Here, providing fertile material for this stinky little blog. I always like a noxious smell that passes through town with no explanation, sort of an olfactory Paris Hilton.

Warm Winter Worries


This warm Northeast winter which has been a bust for skiers,is starting to scare some farmers too. Bees buzzing and sap running in January is not the way it's supposed to be. If I get a bear on my deck this week I've got a bone to pick with someone at Exxon.

Global Heatwave for 2007

As I prepare to depart our balmy Catskills perch with its 40 degree, rainy conditions, I can't help but wonder what awaits on the climate front in the coming year. No doubt we are experiencing some cyclical weather patterns and I know I can find similar weather scenarios in the weather archives.
